Quilt Talk

Saw this @ Crafty Cupboard today...

This quilt is SO cute, I LOVE the color combo
I want to do a kid's room in these colors someday.
....with bedding that looks exactly like this quilt;)

Now...I just need to learn to quilt!

Any tips out there on quilting?

I've been wanting to cut up my wedding dress and turn it into a quilt for years now & I have made it a goal to do in 2010! Go ahead, gasp. YES...I am CUTTING up my wedding dress. And I know I will love it...when I finish it.

I'm in the middle of making my second quilt ever. The first I did everything from start to finish - even quilting it (my aunt helped and it's definitely not perfect but it works and looks pretty good). This time I am doing a HUGE denim rag quilt (close to king size) so it's really simple - just a lot of work. My suggestion on a quilt is to take it somewhere to have it quilted. I think you just have to have the front and back pieces and some batting and they put it all together. Then you can do the binding after. They can do some really neat designs when they quilt it that I know I wouldn't be able to do. Just an idea. Knowing you though you'll probably make one that's absolutely perfect and amazing the first time!

Thank you Kendra! I will NOT do a perfect one 1st time...I need to try at least one before I cut up my wedding dress. I don't want to mess up on that one!

I will definitely have it quilted! Matt's grandpa has a quilting machine, so I'd love for him to do it! I just need to get going on it!

Take it from a (cough, cough) "seasoned expert." If you can sew a straight line, you can quilt. At least that's what I tell myself.
