Birthday Saw

Whenever my Birthday rolls around each year, I can RARELY think of what I want??

My husband always begs to tell him what he should get me,
but all I usually want is some sort of decoration/home improvement item for the house.
He told me this year that I'm not allowed to get anything for the house...
I have to think of something I want for ME:)

I thought a lot about it and decided I want a SAW!
He was quite surprised when I told him & asked what in the world I was going to do with a saw???
I told him, "Make stuff !"
He said, "What in the world are you going to make?"
I said, "Just stuff...you know, cute, crafty things."
He said, "Whatever. I'm just glad you actually want something for you!"

Little does he know, everything I want to make will actually go IN THE HOUSE ;)

So...HOPEFULLY my husband is going to get me a saw next week!

Any suggestions on the saw/power tool you use MOST in your home for Home Improvement projects or Crafty Decor???

I'm THINKING I want a jigsaw, but any advice would be GREAT!

At our house, we have a table saw, a jig saw, and a meiter saw. The table saw scares the livin daylights out of me so I don't use it ever! I recently got brave enough to use the meiter saw(chop saw) and the jig saw. I find them both very useful. For crafting
I use both. The chop saw is great for cutting 2x4s and the jig saw is great for smaller more detailed cuts. For general home improvement, I would say the chop saw. They are pricey though! Good for you that you actually were able to think of something. I usually can't either!

I have most of the saws one could need. I think a miter saw would be the best one to ask for as a present. They are pricier than a jig saw.
I use my miter saw and table saw the MOST. But if you get a miter saw, you can have larger pieces of plywood cut at the store (home depot).
However, when you're in the middle of a project, a miter saw is invaluable, especially if you want to do trim. (think crown molding)
I haven't bought anything at a pawn shop, but a jig saw might be a great pawn shop purchase.
good luck!

hey girl...it's me...your long lost friend...anyhoo...I have a scroll saw...it's fun, more for like cutting out crafty shaped wood and stuff, wish I had time to use it more, but look into a scroll saw too. We have a miter, and a jig saw...next on my list, a table saw! AND, Happy Birthday!

Ooh, I want one of those too. I want a lot of tools to make the things I see on knock-off wood.
