Roll Top Desk Redo

I decided I HAD TO HAVE a Roll Top desk to organize our bills, so that I could HIDE the mess when people came over. I looked and looked on Craigslist and when I saw this one, I immediately knew I had to have it! I could see the potetnial, I loved the drawers along the top and down the sides and it was made out of Quality Solid Wood!
And it was a STEAL OF A DEAL!

I loved the little cubbies when you open the roll top...perfect for organizing mail
It had quite a bit of wear on the surface, where children had etched their name into the desk, among many other scratches...

Nothing a little sanding couldn't take care of though!
We sanded down the desk & primed it...
Then used a sprayer to coat in a deep red

and finished off the desk, perfect for the small space we had available for it!
and when people come over, I quickly roll down the top to hide our mess! :)
I love it!

*Now I just need to find a cute chair...

Totally kicking myself for not taking the roll top desk I couldv'e gotten for free from my friend when she moved. It was beat up and I couldn't envision how great it could look.

Great job! I could use something like this to hide my mess instead of grabbing everything and putting it in the window behind the curtain (ha ha).

What a great find! It looks like a very solid piece of furniture and I really like the red. That thing must've been a beast to paint! You're a brave one.

It seems like it would be a difficult to paint a roll top desk. Great job!
