I have seen the cute Decorative balls on several blogs lately & always thought they looked like they would take a lot of time & I just never had the stuff laying around to make them.
Well this morning, I decided to take a stab at it, using RICE, SPLIT PEAS & PINTO BEANS(stuff I had on hand)
I would still like to make a twine one or a ribbon one, like I have seen around blogland.

This red Candle Holder below,was actually my inspiration. I got this from my mother-in-law for my Birthday a few years back & LOVE it! BUT I have been looking for something similar to go in my bathroom & have yet to find one{in my budget}
The problem...my bathroom is not red.
SO...this morning, I decided to USE WHAT I HAD & I took out the candle & placed it on a black candlestick in my living room where RED IS FOUND & spray painted the base of this one, WHITE.
Are you allowed to paint something if it was given to you as a gift? I hope my mother-in-law doesn't mind!?!

Then I grabbed 3 small foam balls & poured Elmer's Glue all over them and rolled them in some food...
This worked pretty good, except for the Pinto Beans.
They did not want to stick.
I had to resort to using my Hot Glue gun for that one...which I was trying to steer clear from, so I wouldn't burn my fingers!
BUT...I finished it, with NO BURNS!

This empty counter in our bathroom needed a little sprucing up & remember, I'm working on a "Beach inspired" bathroom...
I wasn't too picky about these balls being perfect, I just wanted each of them to have their own texture...
I planned to spray them all white...then I decided to spray a couple blue. Then I decided I liked them all blue...
This candle stick is so cute, but it wasn't displayed anywhere in my home, so I took a can of brown-ish spray paint to it...
I grabbed some clear marbles I had for a preschool projects & stuck them in a little jar & stuck it on the candlestick & grabbed this little lantern I picked up at Goodwill once for 99Cents
& filled up my empty counterspace...
all before the kids woke up!
This was also my 1st attempt at Spray Painting Glass & now I'm looking all over to see what I can find that needs a coat of paint;)
