I needed to make 3 THANK YOU CARDS for the young children in our church to sign their names in & I decided that a card would just not be enough to say THANKS to the 3 deserving women that they were going to. So I made some THANK YOU BOOKS instead.
Actually...I got the cute one in the back from a friend of mine & I copied it, to make the 2 pink ones!
You want to make your own???
They are really easy & make a cute little gift!
1st you cut a piece of cardboard(just use a piece of a cereal box)...
6" x 4 1/2"
Lay cardboard on top of a cute piece of scrapbook paper & fold all sides to crease at edges of cardboard...
Now open flaps up & cut out corners with scissors...
and angle off 4 of the corners...
Now...GLUE cardboard & paper together, gluing down the edges.
Repeat these steps, so that you have TWO sturdy ends, that will become your FRONT & BACK of your Book. No need to use matching paper, just coordinating colors. I made my fronts & backs from different papers.
Now...grab some cardstock that coordinates.
I chose PINK.
Cut in half, so that you have 2-pieces that measure 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"...
Now fold those pieces in HALF...
Now start gluing, overlapping the entire piece of paper onto the next one & repeat until you have the number of pages you would like...
Now fold them back and forth, so you have an accordion of pages...
Now...take your BACK & lay a piece of RIBBON across it, gluing it down.
Leave enough length, to eventually tie a bow around your book...
Leave enough length, to eventually tie a bow around your book...
Then LAY one end of your accordion book onto back, covering up the cardboard & ribbon...
Now, glue the TOP on to your top piece of cardstock...
See how it opens up...
Write a meaningful note, add pictures, scrapbook some cute quotes inside...get creative &
then close book & tie a bow...
And give it to a deserving friend!!!
